Salut tout le monde ! My name is Charlotte, and ever since I was little kid I've loved to explore new places, meet new people, and learn about different cultures. In college, I majored in French Studies, and had the opportunity to study in France for four months, so be prepared for a lot of posts about France! Over the years, I have come to realize that travel can connect people, across linguistic, cultural, political, and even religious barriers, in unfathomable ways, and that the empathy that these connections foster is so desperately needed in today's world.

So, why this blog? Well first of all, any of my friends or family members will tell you how much I love to talk about the places I've visited; it's a fascinating subject for me. More importantly, I hope to encourage travel, as well as a level of cultural awareness and empathy that I believe is severely lacking in our American society.
